Weaver-bird
Md. Nurul Islam
[Barisal, 1st November 2017, Wednesday]
Weaver, so to say, the weaver-bird
Found builds nest by toiling hard,
Oft’ in palm leaves attributes fine
skill in this line appears superfine.
Sets glowworm in its nest for light
That twinkles to illuminate at night,
In nest own through thick and thin
Manages with wit to shelter its kin.
Sparrows are almost bodily same
Unlike them weaver attains fame,
To go for man’s shed denies to like
To a depending life it takes a hike.
Finch-like songbird a tiny creature,
A live self-help practicer in Nature:
‘Self-help is the best help’ its motto
A glaring lesson everyone to follow.
For intellect dimension is no factor
In fine, weaver is to be a nice actor,
As supersedes many a genera in hit
Veneration justly be bestowed on it. 20
