Translation of Omar Khayyam's Rubaiyat

 

ওমর খৈয়ামের রুবাইয়েতঃ

কাজী নজরুল ইসলামের অনুবাদ -৪০

ছেড়ে দে তুই নীরস বাজে দর্শন শাস্ত্র পাঠ

তার চেয়ে তুই দর্শন কর প্রিয়ার বিনোদ বেণীর ঠাট।

ঐ সোরাহির হৃদয় - রুধির নিষ্কাশিয়া পাত্রে ঢাল;

কে জানে তোর রুধির পিয়ে কখন মৃত্যু হয় লোপাট।

My translation into English

Leave off the study of that dull, sterile Philosophy,

Instead, you see the fashion of lady-love’s queue so lovely.

Pour wine to the goblet duly emptied the jar up to its last;

When your bloody drink would cease death not known to me.
